As in any new relationship it takes time to figure out how everyone communicates with each other. We want to make sure that we're always having honest conversations even if they're difficult. We've found the best way to do this is to build strong relationships.
Below we discuss general guidelines for how and why how we communicate at different stages of our relationship.
We first work to understand both you and your ideas. To best do this we always want to video chat when starting out. The added social cues from facial expressions helps everyone to build a relationship so everyone is comfortable having an honest conversation. This also helps to understand what is important and what are secondary thoughts. We'll discuss everything about your idea, problem, and app. While doing so we'll take some notes to reference later and we'll email you overviews of the conversations.
When we start to architect the app we'll create wireframes and mockups. For the initial version we'll want to video chat and give you a live overview of everything. For further revisions we'll send updates via email and hop on a call once a week to go over any outstanding questions or concerns.
The building of the app is the most labor intensive task of the whole process. At the beginning there isn't much to show so we'll limit our scheduled communications to weekly updates. As the app gets closer to completion we'll be able to share a "test" version with you where you can provide feedback. With this we'll keep a consistent and open dialog and have either weekly or bi-weekly (depending on the length of development) video chats so we can go over the progress and discuss any questions.
